A surprising discovery at the location of the opening ceremony
Just a few meters from the square where the National delegations for the World Championship are preparing for the inaugural ceremony in Deruta (the world capital of ceramics), there is an extraordinary work of art to visit.
At 9 Benicasa Square, you can find the workshop of Giovanni Andreani. He is a refined ceramist and he played guitar for many years with his band “Quintaessenza”; he has combined his passion for music and artistic skill by creating electric guitars made of ceramics. They are true works of art, perfectly functional.
Among thevarious artists who use his guitars is Carlos Santana, who celebrated the 20th anniversary of Supernatural, an album that has made history in music and won multiple Grammy Awards, as well as the 50th anniversary of the masterpiece album Abraxas, named after the book Demian by Emil Sinclair, a pseudonym of the author Hermann Hesse. He played his Deruta ceramic guitar on stage.
Art and music enthusiasts should not miss such a visit.
